    Wink

hey i was wondering what i should set my BTC at. I have "one step colder plugs", and MSD wires. I also live in Toronto, Canada so it's not as cold up here than in Cali or the south end of U.S. I have my BTC set at .7 at the moment with stock timing, 16 degrees, that would make it 10 degrees right on stock timing???

What are you guys setting your BTC at?????

ive mine 4 clicks -.4deg per lb of boost for normal driving . when i get a contender i usually turn it off , but ive been lucky in that ive had almost no detnation with my setup . i really just leave it 4 clicks for good measure . you however should set yours to where you are free of detnation . if you see 8psi for boost you would be pulling 5.6deg of timing (.7x8=5.6).

.6 is where I drive around town and autocrossing.

.4 is where I start getting detonation in 4th gear 7000rpm.

With 3 gallons 94 octane and a whole bottle of octane booster, I can turn it off.

I never drove the car with less than .5 degrees.
And i never felt what detonation sounds like.

JDR: Yeah. CRV pulley is always on. I see 12-13psi on boost gauge.

defconsc: You can probably go to .4 safely. At .4 I don't get detonation until after I've been boosting at full WOT for 10-12 seconds. You're lower boost won't buildup the heat mine does.

It may cause more "tip-in" detonation just putzing aroung town.
